Just another indian overall thought

Finishing just another indian was very sad, to be honest I highly recommend this book. This book is an easy read, it is based on a true story, of the unfortunate killing of native women. Overall the book is disturbing, but has an awesome look of events that slowly unfold during the reading. As the book starts to unfold you learn that this is one of Canada's most prolific serial killers. For this book being based in Saskatoon, and a true story I don't understand why it wasn't covered by media all over the world. I feel as a Canadian I know we talk about rapes and murders alot, so I wonder why very few Canadians don't know about this. Is it because the story is about native women, or were they trying to not let such a gruesome crime be known by everyone. I  recommend this book highly to anyone who likes to know about murders and how they end, or to anyone who wants a good read.

I think this book was very informative in an academic way, because it teaches you that in the world there isn't just all happiness there are bad parts and some people don't care. Just another indian is disturbing, because of the way the women are killed and how each story is told in detail. The story just becomes very disturbing by the end of it.

  1. It's very interesting that none of us ever heard of this event before taking Elaa30. The truth is the issues with missing and murdered aboriginal women are only rally starting to unfold now in the media. The infortunate thing is it is acts of individuals fighting for the issue to be known that are getting media coverage. News stations just don't want to look at the issue, it's purely racism.

    1. I also agree that is very interested that I have never heard of this until ELA30.But your blog is really repetitive to me,I recommend next time you wright a blog put your recombinations ll together because you do repeat and I felt like I was reading the same information twice. But the society we live in is very racist today and its not just First Nation murders but African American people are murdered people just seem to wipe it away and sweep it under the bed but if it was for a caucasian to get murdered the News and ops would be all over the case to find who killed this person.Sadly we live in a society and its hard see that no one looks everyone equally to one another.

  2. I would agree with you that this book is sad. It is hard to accept the reality that events such as rape and murder happen so close to us. It can happen to anyone!I feel like the media should have covered this story better. especially to warn people in saskatchewan about the dangerous people around us. I feel like the story didn't get covered in the news because the media didnt want to push people away from saskatoon. Truth is this happens EVERYWHERE.
