Just Because I Have a Dark Past Doesn't Mean my Future Isint Bright

Jordin has been through a lot in his life including growing up with alcoholic abusing parents and dealing with his brothers suicide. He has pushed through a lot, been through a lot and most of it he has been through alone. Jordan's past is dark, he has shadows and demons that haunt him; and there are things he wishes he could change. There are things he knows he could have changed to have done better.
However the most important thing I believe about Jordin is he is genuinely a good guy. He doesn't hold bitter resentment towards anyone that's done him wrong and he doesn't dwell on changing the past because he knows that he can't. He went to rehab and he bettered himself because he had to, but also because he wanted to, because he knew he was heading for a dark place. Jordin said “the process of apologizing to all of the people I hurt took almost two full years.” This shows us who Jordin really is, he was completely and fully committed to bettering himself after rehab. Most people would never take the time to apologize to so many people, they would forget and move on. However Jordin knew he could not move on because he would still have that dark past weighting him down. The fact of the matter is Jordin has been through a lot of hard things, but he isn’t letting them affect him anymore. He has moved on and become a better person and will continue to become a better person, not a dark person or hurtful person because he has been that person long enough.

  1. I very much liked your blog and from reading your blog I relied that Jordin had a very hard life which can relate to the book I'm reading which is 'Playing with Fire" which Theo Fleury has to fight his horrible past with alcohol and drugs and later does go for rehab to clean up and live his life clean from his past.

  2. WOW this blog really shows that you were able to make very good connections and prove your knowledge of the book is vast and well educated.Trying to move on is the best way of healing sometimes and it looks like Jordin is definitely healing all of his broken feelings. I have not read this book but just from the information you have provided i already have an idea of what the player as going through throughout his life. Well done....Well done.

  3. This blog is very good, I enjoyed reading about how Jordin was at the start of the book and how he evolved/changed by the end of the book. The fact that Jordin was able to fully commit to bettering himself and healing, it really shows that he wants to become better which is always easier said then done.

  4. You made some really good connections to JOrdin. One thinf i have to disagree with is that Jordin, yes after rehab he apologized to everyone and yes had the ability to better himself, the part I disagree with is the moving on part in a sense. Jordin has moved past and become a better man substantially but i think he holds his past as a reminder of the man he wants to and continues to be in the future. All in all I believe you summed Jordin and this experience up very well
